PS3 eta 2009-11 by: metallica December 27, 2007, 8:34 pm
OF COURSE emulation of the Sony Playstation 3 does not exist for current home technology. You would need a couple quadcore processors and about $800 invested in superfast SLI graphics adapters so forget about it. It is only recently that modern systems can handle decent emulation of the PS2.
The PS3 is going to be around for a long time and it is going to be quite a while before anyone faithfully emulates this beast - if ever - the PS3 is a complicated mass of machinery. It will take a major endeavor to emulate its many components, but given enough time - let's say 20 years, it'll probably be beautifully emulated on your holographic iphone or something. Time will tell.
Sony must have learned a lot about Web 2.0 and Wikinomics because they did an about-face with the PS3 by providing a boot loader allowing open source software to be run..but they still stuck us with a blue-ray DVD player in a console that nobody wants.
So you can install Linux to the PS3 but apparently it sucks. Here's the question - why does Linux suck on the PS3?

We will eventually emulate the ps3 as we have emulated every other system it's a matter of collecting information on the ps3 and processing it into a format which pc/mac can suport. It's a work in progress ive been keeping up on the updates
