Project 64: N64 emulation for Windows by Chris October 29, 2008 Project 64 is a great emulator that has been in development for almost 10 years. It provides an excellent emulation experience with a variety of intuitive features like 'overlay user output'.
Today's processors can easily handle the emulation requirements of Project 64. The Nintendo 64 was one of the most powerful systems ever built, however, that was over 10 years ago and now bargain-basement Pentium 3's and 4's can emulate this machine at a neat 30fps.
Hopefully we'll be seeing something like this with PS3 and 360 emulators a decade or two from now.
Project 64 is an active development - it is hosted and discussed at: www.pj64-emu.com.
A lot of work went into this application and the publisher is asking for a small return - to get the latest and greatest version a donation would be much appreciated by the creator of this fine piece of software.
The older version is available. If you like it, please donate and support the valiant efforts of the Project 64 team.
