ePSXe or the enhanced Playstation emulator was written by "Calb", "_Demo_", and "Galtor" in 2000, it went through several iterations and the most recent release is less than a year old - 1.7.0 - released in May of 2008. This release is considered to be the best Playstation emulator available today.
System requirements are minimum at 256MB Pentium 200 with the OpenGL or Direct X API. A CD-ROM is optional. Game compatibility is excellent with nearly all games performing flawlessly at full speed.
ePSXe makes extensive use of a plugin system for advanced audio, video, and controller support.
The emulator requires a copyrighted BIOS which can be dumped from your Playstation or found on the Internet.
1. download and extract ePSXe v1.7.02. ensure that zlib1.dll is in the same folder as epsxe.exe 3. acquire the BIOS scph1001.bin or scph7502.bin (either dump it from your Playstation or find online with a search engine) 4. place the uncompressed bios into the /bios directory 5. configure bios: run emulator, click Config, select BIOS, click Select button and open the bios file in the browse box. 6. acquire and install the best video plugin for your system. 7. acquire ROM images or CD 8. run ROM or CD from file drop down 9. have fun
